Installation at CDW2019 Supported by Architainment Lighting an Overwhelming Success

‘Pareidolia’ the installation at Clerkenwell Design Week, by Jestico + Whiles and Porcelanosa Group and supported by Architainment and Studio Fractal was a huge success. Thousands of visitors came to see the installation and hundreds of people attended three dedicated events, created to celebrate the wonder of the installation.

The new, immersive experience was located in Sutton Yard and explored the themes of movement, memory and pattern. Pareidolia used a large-scale digitally created installation made out of Krion, a Porcelanosa product derived from natural minerals, to achieve the stunning results.

Described as a seamless domino line of free-standing ceramic fins, stretching up to 2.3m high and placed on a raised stone platform, Pareidolia invited viewers to experience how pattern and movement are perceived. The static curved sculpture during the day transformed to a dynamic back-lit sculpture at night, featuring a programmed light sequence which jumped to life every 15 minutes.

Architainment Lighting supplied the lighting, commissioned the solutions for the project, and completed the installation using the Architape RGB lighting solution.

The installation was featured on Architect’s Journal as one of their top picks for Clerkenwell Design Week 2019.

Clerkenwell Design Week is one of the most talked about and visited industry events across the design, architecture and lighting sectors. The installation was such a huge success and so well-visited, Architainment Lighting was thrilled to have played a role in bringing it to life.
