Darc Night Turned Bright

Darc Night, organised by Mondo and Light Collective, shows a series of light installations from collaborations between manufacturers, partners and lighting designers, transform a unique London venue.

Teaming up with prestigious designers dpa lighting consultants, and manufacturers LED Linear, Architainment Lighting contributed to the evenings winning installation, ‘Helios’ by offering CAD design, programming, metalwork construction and onsite build and support.

dpa turned the standard geodesic dome kit, which is supplied to all participating designers, 90 degrees, and then complimented the design with an animated display of the sun and sea. Over 38 metres of LED Linear flexible design light line VarioLED Flex VENUS RGB were used to offer the perfect lighting solution. ‘Helios’ was controlled using Pharos TPC1, and all programmed by the team at Architainment Lighting.

‘Helios’ was a resounding success on the evening, and was recognised as the ‘Best Installation of the Night’. Commenting on the win dpa said “The concept was quickly conceived as all three of us loved the idea of using simple graphic lines of light to evoke an emotion, very much like neon but with the added benefit of full colour control. We had a clear vison of what we wanted to achieve but to see it all come together so incredibly well was just amazing and very much down to a great team effort between ourselves, LED Linear and the team at Architainment – thanks guys!”

Darc Night certainly turned bright this year for the team at dpa, LED Linear and Architainment Lighting.
