Historic University Building Illuminated by Lumascape

Classes at Old North Tower at the University of Central Oklahoma began in 1893, and it is recognised as the oldest building of higher education in the entire state of Oklahoma. Since the building’s inauguration into the National Register of Historic Places, it has grown into a community icon, and is the enduring symbol of the university.

With the entire internal structural system having been recently removed and replaced with a brand-new skeleton, the university wanted to give the historic exterior a well-deserved transformation.

The lighting solution needed to evoke the texture in the remarkable sandstone walls, whilst minimising the amount of glare.

Lumascape LS9160 Quadralux Q6 architectural floodlights were chosen, and illuminate the impressive façade. The solution enhances its architectural features by silhouetting it and allowing for the blend of light and shadows.

With a range of accessories and an innovative mounting bracket, the LS9160 luminaires can be installed in multiple orientations. The Quadralux series feature CoolDrive™ thermal management and EasyGlow™ visual comfort technologies for superior performance. Also available with white, color changing and tunable white light engines, this luminaire is built to renowned quality standards and controlled via PowerSync™.
